Sergiy Kovalenkov is one of the most renowned hemp builders in the world and has been part of thehemp building industry for more than 13 years.
Mr Kovalenkov is a founder of “Hempire UA” in Ukraine, the Kyiv-based company, that is focusing ondeveloping and supplying market with hemp-based 100% natural insulation and construction materials.Under Sergiy’s command Hempire has been one of the leaders in hemp building industry, picking up highrecognition and numerous awards during international green tech and environmental contests, while successfully supplying the Ukrainian and EU markets with its’ innovative products.
In 2018 Hempire has opened a branch in California, in order to start supplying its products on pacificcoast. Now company is offering exclusive binder production and distribution licenses across differentstates as the industry recovers after COVID restrictions.
Mr. Kovalenkov possesses vast experience and knowledge in the field of energy efficiency and greenbuilding and is frequently being invited as a speaker to numerous hemp, green tech and environmentalconferences. Sergiy is one of the founders of US Hemp Building Association that is focusing on standardizing and pushing hemp-based construction materials in North America.
Now Sergiy along with Hempire is focusing on helping companies around the world to set up hemp processing and manufacturing facilities to speed up the transition of construction industry towards moresustainable products, so people can start living in healthy homes.
Hempire continues to operate in Ukraine during the war, as Sergiy’s non-profit “Hemp Ukraine Recover” is currently building the largest hemp residential/rehab complex in western Ukraine for refugees, orphansand war veterans. Since millions of Ukrainians are currently suffering from PTSD, such centers will beinstrumental in mental recovery of the entire nation.
Lately, Hempire has started to collaborate with Native Spirits, a First Nations company out of Kanesatake,QC, Canada that will cultivate industrial hemp. This alliance will create new hemp-based constructionproducts and technologies to improve housing for Indigenous people in Canada. These materials willsubsequently help Ukrainians to build healthy homes in order to recover from the terrible war
